I wrote this while working at Cable Oakland. I wrote it in the warehouse on a Saturday afternoon. I was in converter repair at the time and Saturdays I worked 12 hour days. It was unionised so I got overtime and had no complaints. It was the only song I was ever paid to write...though I probably should mention it was done on my lunch break. We had paid lunch breaks so I was really paid to write it in a way.
