I've been a fool For so long Dropped out of love To chase a song But if I had it all I had it all with you All the diamonds Dressed as dreams They can not break More than this heart it seems But if I had it all I had it all with you When all you've got Is what you own What you own ain't worth the time you spend alone Don't want to live alone I've got the sunlight I've got the rain Nothing to loose Nothing to gain I had it all I had it all with you I had it all I had it all But I had it all with you I had it all Ya I had it all I had it all with you

Growing up No one wore a phone Growing up No one wore a phone Whenever you’d go out You were on your own Everyone’s connected Connected all the time Everyone’s connected Everyone’s on line So much to know Try not to lose your mind I’m ok Even thought I’m in the dirt I’m ok Even though I’m in the dirt How long, how long Will I live with this hurt When I catch the train I hope you’ll come along When I catch the train I hope you’ll come along Next time I go it alone I’ll be dead and gone

7pm On my way to a meal Mashed potatoes, salad, and veal My baby makes it just right But I guess I'm not seeing her tonight (Chorus) I got the bus stop blues I should have read the news They told me go buy a bike The busses went on strike tonight Gonna take my baby out on the town Show her the sights was gonna show her around Boy I feel like such a louse A night on the town? I couldn't get to her house Chorus

I got bagels I got no lox Got time But have no clocks Got shoes Without the sox Got the blues And it sometimes rocks That's how it goes Got me water But I got no pool I was learned But not in school Sometimes I'm lame Sometimes I'm cool Sometimes I'm wize Sometimes I'm a fool That's how it goes Life ain't nothing But a job When you have no corn Just a crusty old cob I got scared by The Son Of Blob Back in the day When my youth was robbed That's how it goes Got no lox but a bagel blues Got no lox but a bagel blues No lox But a bagel On the table That's how it goes

We’re living in blue times Nothing now seems right Living in blue times Nothing feels quite right The times may be a changing But I can still tell day from night Don’t want to hear why Everything’s gone wrong Don’t want to know why Everything’s gone wrong Gonna hold on to all that’s good Gotta sing my song I’ve had the blues Since the day I was born I’ve had these blues Since the day I was born You know I love the sunshine But I was born into a storm Living in blue times It’s so hard to know what’s true Living in these blue times It’s so hard to know what’s true Just know that I’m for real Here’s hoping you are too

On a good day You can laugh about the rain On a good day You can laugh about the rain You smile at your heartbreak And laugh all through your pain Everyone was laughing When the sun came shining down through the trees Everyone was laughing Everyone but me 'cause there's nothing funny When you got the blues

I was sitting on the beach Reading my book The alarm went off And I took a look I looked up in the sky so far Saw some missiles coming from the USSR I started to remember what a man had said Life is much better after you're dead I thought a moment that he might be wrong The next thing I knew everyone was gone I don't see how this could be Radiation don't affect me I really wish I could choose Between death and the radiation blues I took a look back in the sky Told myself boy it is time to die So I jumped off the nearest bridge Much to my dismay I lived Much to my dismay I'm the last man on the earth Somebody tell me what am I worth? I really wish I could choose Between death and the radiation blues The radiation blues keep haunting me I love to look at the deep green sea I talk to dead people - they're still statues I'm really sick of these radiation blues

A good hat Keeps the bad thoughts away A good hat Keeps the bad thoughts away When I go out without one My thoughts turn from blue to greyI’m wiping down I'm wiping down this paper plate I'm wiping down this paper plate Someday I’ll have one made of glass How long lord must I wait? When the sun appears When the sun appears I'll be gone When that sun appears When that sun appears I'll be gone 'cause there's more to this story Blues don't do me wrong A good hat Keeps the bad thoughts away A good hat Keeps the bad thoughts away When I go out without one My thoughts turn from blue to grey

about

Had It All was written in 1989. A song inspired by Mickey Newbury's songwriting. After seeing him perform live, having opened the show for him at The Sweetwater in Mill Valley, I was struck by his way of saying many thing with very few words. Mickey Newbury changed the way I approached songwriting.

Phone It In was written in 2019. Thinking back to a time when disconnection was common.

Bus Stop Blues was the first blues song I wrote. I was 15 and Muni Transportation went on strike giving this songwriter his first taste of the blues. 1981

Blues Don't Do Me Wrong: A slow blues written in 2019.

Radiation Blues was written at 15 on a picnic. I may have had some help with that one as we just jamming away at the picnic and I went home and kept what I could remember of the song. 1981

Boogie Woogie Bagel Boy....just something that happened during a podcast. It wrote itself while Moskey and I jammed three chords.
2019

Nothing Funny Blues. This was written in Az Stater Prison. I was there and it sure felt like blues to me. 1994
