As the title says I was indeed on a downward spiral that would eventually have me spending my days sitting in St. Patrick's Church on Mission St. and sleeping at The Baldwin and Victorian Hotels around 6th St and Market. I also stayed at The Gates and The Pickwick Hotels. All one room with a bathroom down the hall. When I couldn't afford the rooms I slept in doorways of usually churches. You'd get hassled less often there for some reason.
