The 2nd of 3 songs taken directly from the Newbury School Of Songwriting. The 3rd song does not appear on this album but Alone In Love does. Music attorney Gene Foley once said he thought Alone In Love
was the best breakup song he had ever heard. With the positive energy garnered from Gene's generous take on my song, I drove to Nashville with the goal of placing the song with an artist who do it justice. I went up and down music row with nothing but my guitar and the shirt on my back. Got to one office and they let me in. I sat in front of a music executive and sang Alone In Love live and personal like. There was dead silence when I finished. The executive behind the desk then opened his mouth to say this: I like the song Alone in Love . But you don't actually say that in the song. You say, "I was alone thinking we were in love."

To that I quickly said, "That would be quite a long title."

He then came back saying, "I hate long titles."

Having done the Nashville version of Who's On First with this guy, I headed home on the next day. Not before meeting Scott Turner my first publisher. He used to write songs with the famous war veteran Audie Murphy. Scott was a pilot in WW2. He had a flight uniform on when I meet him and Dick O Bitts, Don Mclean's producer on American Pie. They were waiting for me in a booth at Showny's on Music Row. Both had l been involved movers and shakers early on in the music business but had little to do with current trends. We talked about Buddy Holly who knew Scott Turner enough to write with once in a while, according to Scott. Dick O Bitts made me uncomfortable every Time I'd run into him, be it Nashville or Phoenix by telling me how he lived off Don Mclean's royalties for years. I returned to Nashville in 2004 for the International Folk Alliance. That is another story.
